GBARC Meeting Minutes April 2019

An introduction of everyone present was done.    

Secretary Report:

Dean-K9FLO reviewed the minutes from the March 4, 2019 meeting,   Recommended for Approval by Chuck-wd9bb seconded by Kevin-kc9pzi approved as read.

Treasurer Report:

Greg-K9GJN gave the treasure report.    Bob-k9bnr donated his hamfest sales of $119 to GBARC.   Thank You Bob-k9bnr!   Motion to approve by Al-kc9qqo seconded by Tom-n9tom.

Old Business:   

         Brett-k9by provided a status report on a vanity club call sign, no new information.      The Wisconsin QSO party, March 10, Dan-k9ibm had 27,000 and Greg-k9gjn had about 30,000 points.    Brett-k9by: the upcoming pie ride event we received a letter inquiring if the club would like to make donations (money to Rotary club), it was decided our time and equipment would be our donation.   We had a discussion on what is needed, how to implement and logistics usng APRS.      We will have a participation sign-up sheet at the May meeting.      The Jefferson ham-fest was successful with 4- tables rented.    Dean-k9flo gave us an update on the Club logo.    Ed-kb9nbp gave a presentation on the club logos he has designed.    Everyone agreed with the designs and changes.     Ed-kb9nbp will have a final design at the next meeting.    Brett-k9by reminded everyone, as long we’re an affiliate of the ARRL (51% GBARC ARRL membership) we can use the ARRL logo and be able to have the ARRL club insurance.

   New Business

Voting on the nominations from last month’s meeting Dean-k9flo and Greg-k9gjn.   Carl-w9bj made a motion we except by acclimation, Chuck-wd9bb seconded, the membership approved.    Chuck-wd9bb thanked the Club for the beautiful Flowers at his wife’s visitation.     Dan-k9ibm had a conversation with Gary-w9xt who does club presentations, on various Ham Radio topics.     Dan-k9ibm will provide Brett-k9by with a list of topics.

Program

Greg-k9gjn did a presentation and demonstration of setting up and using FT-8 digital technology.   We are now ready for FT8!
