Secretary Report:

Dean-K9FLO reviewed the minutes from the November 1, 2021, meeting on the web.          Recommended for Approval by Chuck-wd9bb and seconded by Conrad-w9dl.

Treasurer Report: Greg-K9GJN presented the Treasurers report.     Chuck-wd9bb offered to buy the Christmas fruit baskets (3-one for each shift) for the Beloit Fire department.  A motion was made to accept the Treasurers report was made by Dean-k9flo and seconded by Brett-k9by.

Old Business:     

Chuck-wd9bb check on a supplier of firewood in the So Beloit area (Busy Beaver) and they had Hardwood for $100 a face cord.     Greg-k9gjn found a supplier in the Janesville area for $60 a load for Pine (softwood), will check to see if they have Hardwood.    Brett-k9by said he has a friend with a woodshop and will check with him for wood scraps.     A motion was made to authorize Chuck-wd9bb or Greg-k9gjn to spend up to a $100 for winter field day wood, motion was approved by all present.      

New Business:

Brett-k9by heard from Lyndon-wa9jld and informed us he would not be able to participate in our meeting tonight do to dental pain.      Lyndon-wa9jld also wanted Brett-k9by to inform everyone that his PC he uses for e-mails had been compromised.      Someone had got into his e-mail account, since then Lyndon has spent several hours with Spectrum resetting his e-mail account and has disconnected the PC from the internet.     He doesn’t feel he had any accounts compromised.         Lyndon-wa9jld wanted everyone to be vigilant on any suspicious e-mails.  Brett-k9by checked Deans-k9flo bulk mailings for the club mailings, Brett-k9by went back three months and only found one from around September 20 that was not Bcc.    Dean sends out all e-mails “Bcc” Blind Carbon Copy (e-mail address blocked).      Brett-k9by be careful of attachments, links, also this should be normal practice and watch for suspicious activity on your PCs.     Brett-k9by was still following with Lyndon on what his policy for deleting e-mails.        Brett-k9by the new threat to e-mail is a new type of phishing called “Spear phishing” in which they do target phishing of an individual account.     They acquire all the information about the individual they can and use the information to target a friend.      Be vigilant for at least the next SIX Months of E-Mails.      Do not generally click hyperlinks unless you know the link!       Ed-kb9nbp informed there will be a VE testing 12/11 13:00 at St John Lutheran Church, Janesville: by appointment only, Contact: Scott Fry-n9fry.          Happy Holidays!
