An introduction of everyone present was done.
Secretary Report:
Dean-K9FLO reviewed the minutes from the May 6, 2019 meeting, Recommended for Approval by Chuck-wd9bb seconded by Kevin-kc9pzi approved as read.
Treasurer Report:
Greg-K9GJN gave the treasure report. We paid our State fees and our ARRL insurance. Motion to approve Treasurers report by Chuck-wd9bb and seconded by Lyndon-wa9jld
Old Business:
Brett-k9by passed around the Pie-Ride signup sheet, the club participates would receive food, T-shirt, and a real pie (cherry, blueberry, apple) Try to be at the Footville park by 7:30AM. Brett-k9by recommended we try to have Hams who are not driving their own vehicle, ride with Pie-ride driver and bring your HT. Operating frequencies will be 145.45 as primary and 146.715 C4FM secondary. One hundred kilometer ride starts at 6AM, 50k & 20k start at 8AM Brett-k9by: will try to set up APRS to provide locations. Brett-k9by reminded the drivers to bring a cooler for water, they should have water available. They will provide flags for each vehicle. All the information will be on their web page (www.janesvillemorningrotary.org). We had a discussion on the planned bike routes. Brett-k9by is planning on setting up APRS at the Footville Park rest stop. Brett-k9by we are invited to the planning meeting at the Rotary club meeting Thursday 6/13 6:30AM. Brett-k9by suggested to Jared having bike carriers available on the routes. Brett-k9by suggested having Chuck-wd9bb be stationed at Lyons Park with HT. Bring your APRS capable radios if you have them. Brett-k9by if anyone would like to do a trial APRS test let me know. Brett-k9by had a discussion on setting up and programing your radio for APRS (wide: 1-1, Baud: 1200, Smart beaconing: on, Input your call sign, GPS modem: on, APRS: on, ambiguity: off, elevation: off, speed: off, setup B vfo: 144.39, A vfo: repeater (145.45?). Everyone meet at Footville park rest area at 7:30am.
Brett-k9by: Club logo is ready for review. We had a discussion on anymore changes to the logo (color, shape) and everyone agreed to pursue this later. The Club is still looking for a new (short) club call sign, contact the board if you find one.
New Business
Brett-k9by Field day June 22-23 (Friday 6/21 5pm to setup antennas), planning on setting up the same antennas used from last year and we are building an antenna for making a Satellite contact. Brett-k9by will be setting a Kenwood ts-2000 for 6M phone, ft8 and satellite. Greg-k9gjn will bring Yaesu ft-991A for ft8, Kevin-kc9pzi Yaesu Ft991 SSB, Dan-k9ibm ic7600 cw. We had a lengthy discussion on the grounding, setting up tower or towers and stations setup. Will need four 6’ tables (Greg-k9gjn & Brett-k9by), Carl-w9bj and Dan-k9ibm will take care of food needs (bring your own refreshments). Carl-w9bj will take care of an education presentation each day. Dan-k9ibm will take care of the media needs and bulletin. Brett-k9by we need an elected official invited, check to see if Troy can stop by. Greg-k9gjn will be the safety co-coordinator. Brett-k9by lets start about 10am Saturday morning.
