President Dave Wendt, N9GQ called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
 
Dave, N9GQ, gave his report on ARES/RACES noting the next meeting will be an instructional course on the IS700.  Shirley Connors at the Emergency Operations Center County Health Building in Janesville will give this class on Monday, March 26 at 7PM.  This program will be 2 ½ hours in length.  You must register with me to attend this class.  Dave passed out forms to join the ARES/RACES group.  Also the schedule for 2007 Storm Spotter Training was distributed. He also passed out 2006 All-Hazard Emergency Response Checklist booklets.  Be sure to participate in the Wisconsin QSO party from 1-to 8 p.m. on Sunday March 11. Dave also talked about the book he has from the library by Steve Woziak from Apple Computers.  Remember the Jefferson Hamfest on March 18th.
 
Treasurer’s report by Chuck, WD9BB.   Account balance is $130.99.    He will collect dues from any members at this meeting who wish to pay for 2007. 
 
Recording Secretary report by Conrad Herold, W9DL.  It was read and approved. 
 
New Business:  Home Brew Show & Tell
 
Doug, N9PN, brought homemade key he put together as a Novice - 2 straight keys back-to-back using them as a keyer.
Frank, WA9CWX, brought his transceiver he built.   An Elecraft that he used on the air with QRP 7 watts.
Donn, K9DA, brought his home brew tuna-tin QRP transmitter with a RF output of 200/300 mw.
Tom, N9BUL, brought his old catalogs from 1929 to 1936.
Chuck, WD9BB, displayed his adjustable regulated power supply and resistive bridge.
Jerry, K9EP, talked about Heath Kit equipment that he built.
Ivan, W9AFW, talked about his 6-meter transmitters & converters.
Ed, WB9ITV, talked about his old 2-meter stuff including a 2-meter lunch box.
Conrad, W9DL, displayed his Heath Kit keyer he built and used taking his code test in Chicago at the Federal Building.
Lyndon, WA9JLD, displayed his 6-meter amplifiers of 35 watts working a Japan station.   The tubes in the final are 6146B’s. 
Conrad, W9DL, displayed Carl, W9BJ’s, Elecraft XG1 receiver test oscillator he built.  It supplies S1 and S9 strength CW signals on 80, 40, and 20 meters; crystal controlled.   
Dave, KC9JDQ, displayed his RCA jack  splitter with a SO239.  He uses it all the time.
Dave, N9GQ, talked about his a transceiver operating on 2.4 gigs about the size of a quarter fitting in the hub of a bicycle. This is from his work place.
 
The next Beloit Amateur Radio Club meeting will be April 2, 2007 at the main fire station in Beloit on Park Ave.
