Old Business:  Brett, K9BY, discussed a situation that developed at the February meeting.   One of our members was feeling ill during the meeting and excused himself to use the restroom.  Later, he was treated by the personnel of the Fire Department and blood pressure was taken.  By the standard rules, they must file reports of their assistance as Paramedics.  Thus, paper work later developed so that our member receiving a billing for this assistance.  The billing was for more than two hundred dollars.   This is a financial hardship.  Possible courses of action were discussed.

The Wisconsin QSO Party for 2016, sponsored by the West Allis Amateur Radio Club, will be held on Sunday, March13, from 1 to 8pm CDST.  Since BARC placed well in 2015, it was proposed that we make a concerted effort to improve our score.  Please list you score as Beloit Amateur Radio Club for point credit and get your logs in by April 10th.  40 meters has been the most active in the past.  A handout of information was available.

A discussion by Greg, K9GJN, was held about our new repeaters which are both digital and analog capable.    Some minor corrections of understanding were talked about.

Lyndon, WA9JLD, Brett, K9BY, and Chuck, WD9BB were nominated.

Program:  Chuck, WD9BB, showed his model of the Software Defined Radio that was presented in QST for January 2016.  His evaluation was that kits of parts were competitively priced; $82.50, completely checked out.   He liked the unit but hoped that it would do more.
