President Brett, K9BY, called the meeting to order at 7:03pm. Attendance was 18. Introductions were made. The question of the evening was: Have you constructed anything recently?? Five attendees have. Minutes of the April 4, 2016 meeting were presented by Secretary, Carl, W9BJ. Al, KC9QQO, presented theTreasurers Report.
Old Business: Greg, K9GJN, Field Day Chairman, led a discussion on Field Day preparations. More volunteers are encouraged. A complete outline is shown on our BARC Website under Field Day. Carl, W9BJ, showed our new Band Pass Filters for 80, 40, and 20 meter bands; they are rated 200 Watts and reduce transmitter phase noise. We also have the five 80-10 Meter Filters used from last year. The damaged filter has been repaired. Bills were paid.
A discussion was held on laminated signs; also a safety sign.
AL, KC9QQO, discussed a new opportunity to assist a Bike Ride in Rock County with communications on Saturday, June 18. Volunteers are needed for the 2 meter operation. More details at the June 6th meeting. We will not be assisting the Tub Run this year.
New Business: Don Forsum?, KC9ITH?, a new amateur, asked about his new transceiver, a Galaxy brand. It was determined to be a deluxe CB rig, 11 meters, with a number of addition fixed channels on the low end of 10 meters. He doesn't receive signals, only noise. He needs a good antenna for operation.
Program: A 50-50 Raffle was won by Brett, K9BY.
