GBARC Meeting Minutes May 2018

An introduction of everyone present was done.    

Secretary Report:

Dean-K9FLO reviewed the minutes from the April 2 meeting,   Recommended for Approval by Chuck-WD9BB seconded by Lyndon-WA9JLD and the membership approved as read.

Treasurer Report:

Greg-K9GJN gave the current treasurer’s report.    Motion to approve Treasurer Report by Chuck-WD9BB and seconded by Lyndon-WA9JLD.       

Old Business:

Brett let’s take down Ray Turners 30’ tower this Saturday after Breakfast.

New Business

We will be providing radio assistance to the Morning Janesville Rotary club Pie ride event on June 16^th .     Looking for volunteers.    Recommend having water available for the riders.    June 9^th first Fox hunt after breakfast.    Brett-K9BY up-dated the membership website list.    Brett-K9BY informed us that the Summer Field Day event is secured at the Janesville Fire Dept. training grounds.    We had a discussion on the 2018 summer field day event.   We reviewed our antennas, filters, mounting requirements and radio needs.    It was recommended we try to setup the wireless headsets.   Carl-W9BJ will take care of the food needs.     Brett-K9BY we should keep using the fire training building for the food and suggested we eat in shifts, to provide more operating time.    Brett the Radio grounding environment needs to be improved.    Steve-N9SKM will bring some grounding straps.     Greg-K9GJN will be the safety coordinator and will bring equipment tables.    Steve-N9SKM will handle the Press Releases.     Greg suggested we setup a digital (FT8?) station.      A recommendation was made by Lyndon to have special event insurance.    A motion was made by Steve-N9SKM and seconded by Chuck-WD9BB to spend up to $300 for insurance.    Dean-K9FLO will pursue special event insurance for the Field Day event.     Talked about having a go to station table, we decided against it.    We will have raffles at the Field Day Event.
