GBARC Meeting Minutes November 2017

An introduction of all the present members and guest was done.
We had one new Ham present, KD9SOI Rusty from Janesville “Congratulations!"
and a guest Andrew, who is here to learn about Ham Radio applications for
RC flying.

Secretary Report:
Dean-K9FLO reviewed the minutes from the October 2, 2017 meeting.
Recommended for Approval by Chuck-WD9BB seconded by Carl-W9BJ and the
membership approved as read.
Treasurer Report:
Greg-K9GJN gave the treasurers report for October. Greg needed to have
the plaque reworked for Paul Monroe. Chuck has Paul-W9MEH equipment to
sell. Motion to approve Treasurer Report by Chuck-WD9BB and seconded by
Dean-K9FLO.

Old Business:
A discussion on having a Christmas party and the e-mail responses
Dean-K9FLO received from the members did not show the interest. It was
decided to pursue having a Christmas event next summer. Bob-W9EWZ
invited everyone to an RFI presentation at the Madison DX Club
November 14th. We will have a December 4th meeting to discuss winter
field day January 22, 2018.

New Business
Dan-K9IBM suggested adding a Calendar /Schedule to our Web page. Brett
will add it to the Web site. Chuck had a list of equipment for sale
from a SK in Roscoe, contact Chuck. Brett-K9BY showed a video from
W6LMJ Terry on a demonstration of the new antenna tilt plate for towers.
Andrew Larson (guest) had questions if he obtained his tech license, what
frequencies and powers he could use for his Drone. We had discussions
and recommendations for Andrew, hoping he will get a license.

Program
Lyndon-WA9JLD brought his HP service monitor to the meeting did some
demonstrations showing what proper audio on typical hand held radios
looks like and pointers on how one should talk into the microphone for
good audio. A number of members brought their HT’s for testing.
