President, Chuck, WD9BB, called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm.   Attendance: 24. 
Introductions were made. The question of the evening, “Have you acquired a new email address?” was answered with nos.    Minutes of the June meeting were read.  The Treasurer's Report was given.
Announcements:  The Belvedere, IL Hamfest, on September 7th was enjoyed by many.    Al, KC9QQO, announced that the national Simulate Emergency Test (SET) will be held on Saturday, on October 5th from 10:00 am to noon.   This is an annual ARES activity.   Operation will be from the Rock County Emergency Management site on County Road F, near 14 and 51 intersection.   Operation will be on two meters using the 145.45 repeater.  All hams were invited to call in and participate. 
Old Business: The club New By-Laws committee discussed the proposed New By-Laws.  The Equipment Loan policy was discussed.   Kevin Christ, KC9PZI, has the club HF transceiver on loan.  It was mentioned that he should keep it for present time.  Both the proposed new club By-Laws and Equipment Loan policy statement are posted on the club website,
More study is recommended.
New Business:  Antenna Modeling for Beginners is a new book available from the ARRL . It contains a simplified version of EZnec antenna modeling software. It may be available on with free shipping.
Program:  Conrad, W9DL, presented a new feature at the club.   A Question and Answer  (Q & A)session was held.   Hams were encouraged to discuss their radio problems and others contributed their expertise on the subject. It seemed to be well received and we may make it a regular feature of the club meeting.
Carl, W9BJ , showed a video presentation honoring long time Amateur Radio Ham, Tom Christian, VR6TC. He has been DX on Pitcairn Island in the south Pacific Ocean for 50 years. He was a well known gentleman. He died this summer.
Our next club will be Monday, October 7th, 2013.
